A Foti Humidifying Filter is not to be confused with the plain hardware store variety!
Foti Filters™ are easy to use. You simply add water to the dry filter mask as follows:
- Remove the masks from the plastic package. This plastic wrapper becomes a cup-shaped holder when it is opened. Hold one of the masks in or over the plastic container.
- Add clean water slowly to the center of the foam reservoir or disc. (Please see the photo below.) The easiest method is to use a small bottle of water.
- Add a few drops at a time until the reservoir is saturated. Allow the filter paper around the reservoir to become wet. It takes about 2-3 tsp. Add more water to the reservoir as needed. This will be governed by the dryness of your external atmosphere.
- Dry the plastic container so that it can be used to store the unused mask.
- For use over several hours or in extremely dry environments, you may want to re-moisten the filter mask.

Can they be reused?
It is not recommended. Accumulated particles and microorganisms could become a source of contamination after the mask is allowed to dry.
What type of water can be used?
Distilled water or any pure, bottled water.
Can you use scented water?
Yes, so long as the scent is safe to breathe. Many people add a light lavender essential oil spray.
